My "Go To" Travel Websites

I Find Myself Using Them All The Time - Maybe You Should Too

best travel websitesI travel more than most people racking up about 75,000 air miles per year.  I also help other people make travel arrangements.  I find myself constantly using the same websites and travel apps not only to save money and time.   As you will see, they are mostly airline websites, train booking websites/apps, and general travel sites.   Check out my blog post to see what The Traveling Professor uses to plan his travel life.

Cheap Flights to Europe

With Some Effort, You Can Save Hundreds

People talk to me about travel and the high cost of airline tickets all the time.   Just this week someone complained about the $1,100 ticket from New York to London.   Tickets to Italy are in the $1,500 range.   With the cost of fuel reaching record lows, you would think airlines would cut their prices.  However, supply and demand dictates prices, not fuel costs.  However, if you are smart, you can get to Europe on major airlines like American Airlines for $635 round trip.  How about a $300 ticket to Oslo?  Read my blog post and find out how to save money on your next flight to Europe.

Where is The Professor Going in 2016?

Our Tours for 2016

steve solosky traveling professorWe really do something special here at The Traveling Professor.

It is hard to believe that I have been taking people on small group tours since 2009.  We started running strictly "budget" trips but as time went by, we kept upgrading and upgrading to the point where we use nothing less than quality 3-star deluxe hotels on all our regular tours, we have professional guides, limo pickup at the airport regardless of time of arrival, VIP no-wait-in-line admission.  Our small group size lets us into places where no other tour goes and no guide book will tell you about.  For instance, the ancient ruins you can get up close to an personal with in Rome, the restaurants only known by locals, the artisans in Florence that only WE get into to see, in Iceland we go off the beaten path for lunch at a dairy farm, and in Peru we hike the REAL Inca trail, not the one you always see on TV.   To find out where The Professor is going in 2016 and to find out how you can come along, read today's blog post.

Why You Should Go To Cuba NOW..Not Later

Go Now...And Not Five Years from Now

cuba with the traveling professorThe Traveling Professor resisted the opportunity to run a small group tour to Cuba because of the restrictions, expense, and other special situations.  Earlier this year we were presented with a program that just fit our requirements perfectly and we decided to offer it to our clients because we think NOW is the time to visit Cuba.   See why in The Traveling Professor's blog post.

Organizing a Tour as a Fund Raiser

A Win-Win for All Involved

fund raising toursI usually advertise about 10-12 tours for the general public on The Traveling Professor website.  However, what you don't see on the website is the schedule for private tours.  Some of the private tours are for civic organizations, charitable organizations, or special interest groups.   These tours are organized with fund-raising in mind.   Take a look at the blog post for some ideas of running a tour for fund-raising purposes.
