Yogi Berra famously said, "Nobody Goes There Anymore, It's Too Crowded". We can apply the same statement to travel. There are some places we regularly travel to, but NEVER go during certain seasons. In today's blog post, The Traveling Professor explains the places to stay away from at certain times and better alternatives for travelers who do want to go away and actually enjoy their vacation without the pressing crowds.
We really do something special here at The Traveling Professor.
It is hard to believe that I have been taking people on small group tours since 2009. We started running strictly "budget" trips but as time went by, we kept upgrading and upgrading to the point where we use nothing less than quality 3-star deluxe hotels on all our regular tours, we have professional guides, limo pickup at the airport regardless of time of arrival, VIP no-wait-in-line admission. Our small group size lets us into places where no other tour goes and no guide book will tell you about. For instance, the ancient ruins you can get up close to an personal with in Rome, the restaurants only known by locals, the artisans in Florence that only WE get into to see, in Iceland we go off the beaten path for lunch at a dairy farm, and in Peru we hike the REAL Inca trail, not the one you always see on TV. We get ideas on proposals for new places to travel all the time. Most of them come from travelers we meet at trade shows or on trips they are currently on. We are also approached by many different sources (mostly tourist board or tour operators) to run trips. A lot of new and exciting things will be going on in 2016, and we think it might be the biggest year yet for The Traveling Professor's tours. To take a look at where we are thinking of going in 2016, take a look at today's travel blog post.
