Everyone thinks it will not happen to them - but it does. On my small group tours to Paris, Spain, Peru, and Italy we have had a total of 3 people lose passports in the past 5 years. Because travelers were well-prepared, they got the documents back quickly and they were able tor resume their trip. If they were not prepared - the tour would have been ruined. Take a look at the steps to follow in case of a lost or stolen passport.
The Traveling Professor logs about 75,000 miles in the air each year. Internationally, I have traveled to Italy four times in 2014, I have gone to Paris twice, have visited Norway, and have been to Peru. Domestically, I have visited Savannah, Charleston, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Tucson, Dallas (four times), and Austin (twice). Actually, it was a light year for me. But through my traveling, I have come across some great items that I can recommend to you whether you are taking a small group tour to Paris for a week or a weekend trip to Chicago.
The Traveling Professor jumps on the bandwagon and is offering his special "Black Friday" travel deals to everyone on his mailing list. The Traveling Professor runs small group tours for adults to Paris, Italy, Norway, Ireland, and Peru. Most of the time, travelers come together from different parts of North America for a week or so to enjoy a culturally enriching and fun adventure. However, I have run tours for charitable or non-profit organizations where one of the objectives is to raise money for the group or a particular cause. In this blog post I will describe the benefits of running a tour for as a fundraiser.
In 2014, about 150 people joined The Professor on his small group tours to Paris, Italy, Spain, and Peru. A good percentage of travelers are return travelers and they have been begging for more and more destinations. We've already practically sold out 2 new small group tours to Norway for the Summer of '15, so we decided to add another exciting destination - Ireland. For full details, see the blog post on our newest tour - a small group tour to Ireland.
Europe is different from North America. That's one of the reasons why we travel there. One difference travelers will see when traveling to Paris, for instance, and even more so in Italy, are in the hotel rooms. When staying in the historic district of Florence for instance, most of the buildings are hundreds of years old, built long before modern plumbing and electrical systems. Therefore, these rooms needed to be retro fitted to accommodate these modern conveniences. For that reason, travelers won't find many "cookie-cutter" type of rooms in the big, old cities of Europe. Read my blog post to find out more in regards what to expect in European hotel rooms on your next tour to Europe.
Since 2009 I have been offering small group tours to Paris, Italy, Spain and Peru. In 2015 we have our first preview tour to Norway and Iceland. Norway is spectacular in culture, art and of course in natural beauty. The Traveling Professor's small group tour to Norway features 4-star hotels and 10-star scenery. Check out my blog post to find out our planned itinerary for The Traveling Professor's preview tour to Norway and Iceland.
Traveling to Europe can be expensive. I would rather spend my money on a nicer hotel and better meals when on a tour to Paris for instance rather than throwing money away on exchange fees. Who wouldn't want to tour Italy for an extra day from the savings on exchange fees? In this blog post I will show you some of the best ways to exchange dollars into euros. I will also advise on strategies to avoid when attempting to exchange dollars to euros.
After leading a small group tour to Paris, last week I flew from Paris to Bergen, Norway to begin a short journey in Norway. I was so absolutely impressed by the natural beauty, culture, cleanliness, and cuisine that I knew I needed to add a tour to Norway to The Traveling Professor's schedule for 2015. Although I am still in the planning stage, read the blog post to see why you should be going to Norway in 2015.
