The Traveling Professor small group tours to Scotland are consistently sold out, sometimes 18 months in advance. Scotland has plenty to offer. There are great cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Scottish Highlands have some of the most spectacular scenery one could ask for and when there is train travel involved like on The Traveling Professor's small group tours to Scotland, it is even more spectacular. Almost anyone who travels to Scotland spends time in Edinburgh. In this edition of The Traveling Professor's blog post, we give you our Edinburgh restaurant list.
Last month, The Traveling Professor took 11 travelers on a scenic tour to the Scottish Highlands. Who doesn't love Scotland? It is perhaps the most beautiful country in all of Europe. Everyone speaks English although you might not understand what they are saying! The train rides are spectacular in Scotland. The food is outrageously good and the people are just about as friendly as you can find. So, what should you see, where should you go, and where should you stay on a tour to the Scottish Highlands? Go get yourself a wee dram and check out the Traveling Professor's blog post.
Of course we do small group tours to places like Paris, Rome, Dublin and Oslo. Those are big, bustling cities with mass transit systems, big hotels, lots of museums and restaurants. However, on The Traveling Professor's travels, we have found places that are tiny, off the beaten path places, that we just love to visit. Check out our favorite small towns in Italy, Iceland, Norway, that you have not heard of, but would like to.
In September, The Traveling Professor did an inaugural tour to Scotland. We did this as a small group tour to Scotland with 10 travelers. One of the biggest surprises we had is how beautiful the Scottish Highlands are, and that the best way to see them is by scenic rail. In this blog post The Traveling Professor will tell you a little bit about some of the scenic Scottish highlands routes.
Early in September we did our inaugural small group tour to Scotland. We traveled with 10 active adult travelers to Edinburgh, down to the Borders area, up to the Highlands and finished up in Glasgow. We covered quite a bit of ground by train, ferry, and small van. Check out The Traveling Professor's blog post and find out what we did, what we saw, and how much we enjoyed our small group tour to Scotland.
I am a semi-regular guest on the Scott Thompson radio program in Hamilton, Ontario. In between interviews on the eclipse and Jerry Lewis, Scott spoke with me on-air about stories he heard about tourists no longer being welcome in Europe such as this one. He also had some anecdotal stories of being treated rudely in Italy. We had about 10 minutes to talk on air and afterwards, my website lit up like a Christmas tree. See my comments on tourists being treated rudely or not being welcome in Europe.
