Gone are the days of a good travel agent to help make airline ticket purchases easy.  Travelers are on their own now and boy, do we see travelers make some bad mistakes when purchasing airline tickets.   It can cause them to lose all their money and possibly have no recourse to get it back.  It can cause major headaches when trying to make changes or get adjustments.  The Traveling Professor will tell you what mistake to avoid and why.

We just got back from another small group tour to Paris.  After waving goodbye to our 8 guests, I had the opportunity to check out some new hotels.  2 of them were further out in more residential, leafy sections of town, and another one was right in the center of all the action. One of the worst experiences in travel is being on a long haul flight overseas being stuck in economy class in a packed 3 across seating configuration.  The seats are small and uncomfortable.  I think airlines do this on purpose in order to motivate flyers into buying expensive upgrades. In October, The Traveling Professor ran an inaugural tour to Croatia.
