I received a Fitbit Surge Fitness Superwatch as a Christmas gift last year. I started wearing in my small group tours and it has made traveling more fun and interesting.
I primarily use the watch to keep track of how much I have walked and how many stairs I climb. We find the most walking, on a per trip basis is in Italy, closely followed by Paris. However, the Fitbit also tracks the number of stairs climbed and after a couple of days in Machu Picchu, it isn't unusual to rack up over 500 flights of stairs.
The Fitbit makes thing fun as travelers compare how much they've walked each day (walking can be tracked in steps and in miles). Syncing the watch with a smartphone allows travelers to compare how much activity they have over a long period of time.
The Fitbit has plenty more applications. I highly recommend it for travelers.
