Day 1

Arrive in Dublin. After a long overnight flight from the U.S., let’s meet in the lobby at 5 p.m. for a traditional Irish get-together and short walking tour of Dublin. We’ll get to know each other, talk about what you can expect during our week, and perhaps raise a pint or two. Hotel: 5-star Westbury.
Day 2
Sunday
April 30
Depart 8.30 am from The Westbury Hotel, Clarendon Street, Dublin. Pass through the Curragh Racecourse – the Braveheart film set. On the itinerary is the Magnificent Rock of Cashel. A vIsit to Cork, Ireland's second city. Kiss the World Famous Blarney Stone. Follow the Lee Valley to the source of the River Lee Walk in the forest park or along the Beara Way in Gougane Barra. Overnight in the stunning Gougane Barra Hotel or the Castle Hotel, Macroom. Average driving time today: 3-3.5 hours.
Day 3
Monday
May 1
An action packed day as we journey down the Atlantic Coastline to the “undiscovered” Beara Peninsula. It’s rugged, wild and scenic. A 15-minute walk along the shoreline for seal-spotting at Glengarriff. Hike past the castles of Dunboy at Bullig Bay. We head over the mountain pass to Iveragh Peninsula. We finish up at the ancient Uragh Stone circle. Spend the night in Kenmare. Average driving time today: 2.5- 3 hours.

May 2
It’s a free morning in Kenmare, one of the most picturesque towns in Ireland. Walk the “Old Kenmare Road” in the ancient oak forest of Killarney National Park. In the afternoon, we join the Ring of Kerry on our way to the Iveragh Peninsula. Visit a sheep farm to see amazing sheep dog handling and sheep shearing. Walk with our guide to waterfalls and the ruins of Muckross Abbey. Overnight in the lovely fishing village of Portmagee at The Moorings Guesthouse. An average of 2.5 hours driving today.

It’s Dingle Bay Day on the northern half of the Ring of Kerry. Explore Valentia Island with our guide. We do an off-road adventure to a mountain-top view of Dingle Bay. Drive along the Inch Strand – one of the best beaches in Ireland. Walk through the waterfalls of Lough Annascaul. Overnight 2 nights in Dingle – a town of 2,000 people and 54 pubs at either The Dingle Bay Hotel or Dingle Skellig Hotel. Average drive time today of 2.5 hours.

Thursday
May 4
A great day exploring Dingle and the Peninsula. The options are many: chill out in Dingle, join a tour of the peninsula, or choose from some great optional activities. Kayaking in Dingle Bay (45 euros per person), Horse Riding on Ventry Strand (30 euros), Surfing on the Inch Strand (35 euros), go for a walk along the Dingle Way (free), Golf at Dingle Golf Links (greens fees apply). There are PLENTY of shops, galleries, pubs, and restaurants in Dingle. Less than 2 hours driving today.

We leave Dingle and go north. Pass through North County Kerry before crossing the River Shannon into County Clare. Known for its music, magic and folklore and the unique Burren Landscape, the 700 foot Cliffs of Moher await your discovery. Overnight in Ballyvaughan. Driving time of about 3.5 hours today.
Day 8
Saturday May 6
Travelers have the option of striking out across Galway Bay by ferry (subject to weather and tides) to the Aran Islands. Travelers can spend the day on the islands before taking another ferry to the north side of Galway Bay to meet the rest of the group. Meanwhile, travelers who opt to not take the ferries drive around Galway Bay to meet those on the other side. Those not on the island tour visit the village of Kinvara with its colorful sailboats and Dunguaire Castle. After lunch in Galway City, walk in the footsteps of St. Patrick in the Mamturk Mountains. Overnight in Connemara. We are on the road for 1.5 hours (ferry option), otherwise about 3.5 hours.
Day 9
May 7
Plenty to see and do on our last day on the road. We work our way through Connemara and towards Galway, spending time there before heading towards Dublin. We have time to walk the Famine Trail on the shore of Killary Harbor. Pass through counties Roscommon, Longford, West Meath, Meath and Kildare with stops along the way. We arrive back in Dublin at about 6 p.m. Average drive time of about 4.5 hours today. Hotel in Dublin: Grand Canal.
