Scotland has some of the most beautiful scenery to be found, and much of it can be seen via stunning train rides. Who doesn't love Scotland? It is perhaps the most beautiful country in all of Europe. Everyone speaks English although you might not understand what they are saying! The train rides are spectacular in Scotland. The food is outrageously good and the people are just about as friendly as you can find. Early in September we did our inaugural small group tour to Scotland. We traveled with 10 active adult travelers to Edinburgh, down to the Borders area, up to the Highlands and finished up in Glasgow. We covered quite a bit of ground by train, ferry, and small van.
