Paris in One Day

What to Do If You Only Have One Day in Paris

paris in a dayWhat to do in one day in Paris.  Sometimes I wonder what I would be able to fit in everything I wanted to see if I spent one month in Paris.   There is so much to choose from in The City of Light, so I have put together an itinerary that gives a quick overview of the city, while managing it logistically so a traveler could see as much as possible in one day.  Read the blog post to see what can be done in Paris in a day.

Day Trip to Lucca from Florence

Spend a Day in this Authentic Walled-In City

On our tours to Italy, a day trip over to the walled-in city of Lucca is always a treat.  Lucca is decidedly Tuscan in every way.  It's double-fortified walls make it one of the best preserved cities in all of Italy.   Within the walls, the streets are nearly car-free making it an excellent destination for a full-day stroll.  Even better, rent a bicycle and ride either through the city or along the 2-mile ramparts surrounding it.  On your next tour to Italy, take the train ride over from Florence and see what the beautiful city of Lucca has to offer.

How to do a Day Trip from Florence to Siena

Traveling Professor in SienaEveryone loves Siena.   It is a Tuscan hill town about an hour or so away from Florence. It has a beautiful piazza, great food, and a Duomo on an acid trip (you'll see what I mean when you get there).   Whenever we do a small group tour to Florence, we like to take a day trip there.  It is easy to get to, a great way to spend the day, and has just enough to see to make it interesting.   Check out the blog post to see how I do my Siena day trip.
