The Traveling Professor has been taking people to Europe since 2009. About 2 years ago we introduced "Ladies Only" tours to Paris and they became a big hit. In 2015 we will be running our first Traveling Professor tour to Italy for women only. Why are tours for women so popular? We'll talk about in today's Traveling Professor blog post. I will also mention two websites that cover women's travel.
Of course anyone who goes on a tour to Paris is going to want to see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Orsay. All of that "hard work" leads up to a hearty appetite. Through my extensive tours to Paris I have found the best places to have lunch. Check out today's Paris blog and see The Traveling Professor's picks for the best lunch in Paris.
All Paris hotels are graded by a "star" system, from no stars to 5 stars. Some travelers like to select a hotel based solely on the star system. What they don't know is that the star system does not take into consideration the size or location of a room. So, for instance, you can get a 3 or 4 star hotel that is practically outside of town with a teeny, tiny room and you can get a 2-star located in the heart of the city center with a big room. But let's talk about the start system in today's Paris blog post.
Just about any tour to Paris includes the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame and Montmartre. And frankly, they should. However on The Traveling Professor's tours we try to do give the traveler a bit more than the usual experience. Check out today's blog post and I will tell you about some of the more obscure places worth visiting on a trip to Paris.
Paris is a wonderful place to visit. Nothing beats the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Orsay and Notre Dame. There are quite a few hidden secrets on a tour to Paris to uncover while visiting too. However, there are some places I recommend staying away from on your next trip to Paris. In this blog post I will talk about some places to avoid in Paris.
Paris is one of the fashion capitals of the world. Sometimes I think the city of Paris is a fashion show unto itself. It seems that Parisians have been born with a sense of style and panache. For instance, observe how the French women wear scarves. Notice how the children are neatly attired. French men can dress casually and still seem to have that sophisticated sense of style. In this blog post are some fashion sites to visit on your next tour to Paris.
Celebrate and take your choice of either Reims or Épernay for tours and tastings. It takes about an hour by rail from Gare de l’Est to travel into the French countryside. I advise making an appointment for tours and tastings on weekends, holidays, and peak travel periods. Raising a glass at two, maybe three Champagne houses is the limit for me on a day trip. On your next tour to Paris, take a day off and do an easy tour to the Champagne region.
Taking a tour to Paris involves walking, a lot of walking. Whether it be on one of The Traveling Professor's small group tours to Paris or traveling on my own, I like to take a break in the middle of the day and do something relaxing. A cruise down either the Seine or the Canal St. Martin is always on my list of things to do in Paris. Take a look at the blog post to find out more about taking a day cruise in Paris.
On our small group tours we love to eat. Over the years I have found the best authentic dining spots in Italy, Paris, Spain and Peru. In this blog post I will tell you about my favorite eating spots, places we always go on my Traveling Professor tours. Two of the best dining spots are in Italy, and I have listed one each in Paris, Peru, and Spain. Come join me on a Traveling Professor tour and see what I am talking about.
