Day Trip to the Champagne Region

Reims and Epernay: An Enjoyable Trip to the Countryside

Celebrate and take your choice of either Reims or Épernay for tours and tastings.  It takes about an hour by rail from Gare de l’Est to travel into the French countryside.  I advise making an appointment for tours and tastings on weekends, holidays, and peak travel periods.  Raising a glass at two, maybe three Champagne houses is the limit for me on a day trip.  On your next tour to Paris, take a day off and do an easy tour to the Champagne region.

Day Trip to the Champagne City of Reims

A Perfect Day Trip from Paris

Champagne TastingSometimes we like to take a diversion from the city on our tours to Paris and head out to the countryside to the Champagne region of France.  So, we'll take the 45 minute fast train to Reims and celebrate by visiting one of 20 or so Champagne houses like Pommery, Taittinger, Mumm, Krug, or Piper-Heidsieck.    It's a fun day, easy to do.  So next time on one of your tours to Paris, decide to pop the cork and head out to Reims.
