There are a few options for getting around town in big European cities like Paris, Rome, London, and Madrid. Of course there is the walking option and there are taxis. Most major European cities are serviced by the metro and while it is probably the fastest way to get from point A to point B, there are many reasons why The Traveling Professor prefers the bus. Read my blog post today and I will tell you why.
Generally, there are two forms of public transportation in most cities, the bus and the metro. In Paris, the metro is as sophisticated as can be found. In Rome, for now there are only 2 metro lines so the buses are much more widely used. But on any tour to Paris or to Rome, I always prefer using the bus, and I will tell you why in this special Paris and Rome travel blog post.
Whether traveling on one of my Traveling Professor small group tours to Paris or going on your own tour of Paris, the best way to get around is by bus or metro. Both the Paris bus and metro are economical, cover the city extremely well, and operate frequently. In this blog post we won't talk too much about the virtues of the Paris public transportation system, but we'll discuss what kind of transportation tickets to buy for your next trip to Paris.
