Milan is the least expensive place to fly into Italy.  From there, it is easy to find a cheap train fare to anywhere you wish to go and actually get there within a few hours.  I will be traveling to Italy with my brother who, believe it or not, has never been to Europe at all.  This trip to Italy will be a good introduction for him.   On this trip, my itinerary is flexible, but this is my plan:

  • Arrive in Milan
  • Train to Rome.  See Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Borghese Gallery, Vatican.
  • Over to Assisi.   I have never been there either so I am anxious to visit.
  • Take the Train to Florence.  My favorite city in Italy.   We'll see David, the Uffizzi, eat some great food, and just enjoy Florence.
  • Take the Train to Venice.  My 2nd favorite city in Italy.   Venice is less expensive than you think it is.
  • We need to stay overnight before departing from Milan, so we'll schedule in a visit to see "The Last Supper"

Why don't you take advantage of this great fare to Italy and meet us there?  We'll put together our small group tour to Italy.  LOL!
