When we run a tour, we get to know our clients pretty well.  Every tour is different, but about 70%-75% of all our travelers are women.  Of those women on our tours, about half of them are traveling solo - with no travel partner.  The other women are usually traveling with another woman (usually daughter, sister or friend) and we usually have 2 or 3 couples on a tour.  We actually ran two tours in 2019 that were 100% women traveling alone.  In 2018, we actually ran tours for women only.

We find that a lot of solo travelers choose to go on a Traveling Professor Small Group Tour because of the group size (about 10-15 travelers) and that there are a lot of good opportunities to meet other solo travelers just like them.  They feel comfortable with other travelers who are also solo travelers.  A LOT of our travelers have met on trips and continue friendships after a tour is over.  Some of them even go on more Traveling Professor tours again.  There are a few who have even traveled together on trips independent of The Traveling Professor!

There is a big, big community out there of people who want to travel, but don't go because they are without a travel partner.  But when they join a Traveling Professor small group tour, they instantly have 8-10 new travel friends.  They never again feel like a "3rd wheel" and it is such a joy for us to introduce such an opportunity for solo travelers.

See our 2019/2020 tour schedule and meet travelers with interests just like yours. We are happy to tell you which of our tours have lots of other solo travelers just like you.
