In 2018 we ran our inaugural tours to Scotland.  Our highlight was our small group tour to Croatia.  We had another great tour to Paris and the Normandy Invasion Beaches.  We ran our best tour ever to Peru and the Amazon.

Here is where The Traveling Professor is going in 2019:

Small Group tour to Iceland and the Northern Lights:   We've sold out both our tours to Iceland in 2019.  What we like about this tour is our small groups gets us to scenic locations that other tours won't take you to, or other tours don't know about.  We stay at the lovely Holt Hotel which has a great lounge comfortable rooms.  On this tour we have the BEST opportunity to see the Northern Lights.  We do a great Reykjavik city tour, we travel and do the Golden Circle (geysers, waterfalls, national parks) and the rugged South Coast tour with volcanoes, black sand beaches and glaciers.  Get on our 2020 tour, scheduled for February 10 by emailing me at info@travelingprofessor.com.  We'll hold a spot for you!

Peru and Machu Picchu:  Our April tour is sold out but join us in November 2019.  We do Peru and Machu Picchu right.  2 nights in Cusco at the Aranwa hotel, with it's "smart" oxygen system that pumps oxygen into each room.   We stay at Machu Picchu for two nights (don't get tricked into those tours who stay only one night or worse, no nights) at the El Mapi hotel.  And if you thought you would be roughing it in the Amazon jungle, think again.  We stay at one of the top eco-lodges in the world, the Inkaterra Amazonica.  This year we saw sloths, monkeys, alligators, and all kinds of birds.

Paris and the Normandy Invasion Beaches:  Of all the trips we do, my heart is in this trip more than any other.  EVERY American should go on this exciting and emotional tour.  It is a tour that The Traveling Professor GUARANTEES you will love and if you don't describe it as one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that will not be forgotton, I would be very surprised.  Unfortunately, it is the most difficult trip we have in getting people to sign up for.   It's the perfect travel gift for that special someone.  This tour closes out January 3, 2019.

Edinburgh and Scotland by Scenic Railway:  It's actually two trips in one.  We start off in Edinburgh and the surrounding area for the first part.  The second part is off to the Scottish Highlands with a stop in St. Andrew's before getting there.  We travel on some of the most beautiful train journeys you have ever been on to Inverness and Kyle of Localsh with side trips to Loch Ness, Fort William, and then ending up in Glasgow.  It is a great small group tour to Scotland.

Croatia by Land and Sea:  Our 2018 small group tour to Croatia was our best tour of the year.  Although we do have 30 people on our luxury ship, we always split the group into groups of 15 for each guided tour.  It's a lovely island hopping trip down the Croatian islands in the Adriatic coast to Hvar, Split, Dubrovnik, Korcula and more.  And let's not forget a lovely visit to the exciting city of Zagreb.

The Jewels of Northern Italy:  Frankly, Rome and Florence are overcrowded and are so touristy, some doubt if they represent the real Italy anymore.  Don't fear!  Travel on a small group tour to Italy where we visit Venice, Padua, Verona, Bassano del Grappa, Treviso and Vicenza.  We base ourselves at the luxury canal-side Hotel Dinesen in Venice, off the beaten path but close to all, and the Hotel Majestic Toscanelli in Padua.  This is a small group tours to Italy that shows you the REAL Italy.

Norway, Copenhagen and Iceland by Ferry and Scenic Rail:  After a one year hiatus, this small group tour to Norway is back on.  We also take on Copenhagen and Iceland too.  The overnight ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo is stunning, and our stay at the Fretheim Hotel in Flam is special, not to mention the train rides including the famous Flamsbana

Toronto to Ottawa to Montreal to Quebec City by Train:  We're in the process of developing our first small group tour to Canada, make sure to get on our email list to get first notice on this and other small group tours.
