After many requests by travelers who have been on his tours and years in the planning, The Traveling Professor is proud to present a small group tour to Italy’s Amalfi Coast.  The journey to southern  Italy is all about the stunning scenery, the ruins of Pompeii, the romantic Blue Grotto, the hilltops of Ravello and the gem that is Positano.  

The Traveling Professor, Steve Solosky, has custom-designed a culturally enriching and delightful itinerary.  Not only are major sites on the schedule, but there are opportunities to experience a side of the Amalfi coast that travelers on those big bus tours never get to see.  We travel with small groups of about 12 adults on an ambitious and exciting itinerary.   The Professor takes all the hassles out of the trip by making all the arrangements, all you need to do is enjoy your visit.  

This trip is designed for ambitious, adult travelers who want to see and do a lot.  

Included With Your Trip:
  • 2 Nights in Rome, 3 Nights in Sorrento  in a clean, comfortable, quiet hotel in a safe, central location.   Double, twin, and quad rooms have both private baths and showers.  Breakfast is included.
  • Transportation:  High-speed luxury train between Rome and Naples.  Private limo transfers from train station to our hotel in Sorrento.  Transportation in private limo or small vans.  Hydrofoil to/from Capri.  No big busses on this tour!  We travel on OUR schedule.
  • Professional guide services.   Professor Steve Solosky personally leads this tour assisted by local, professional, local guides.
  • VIP Paid Admission  To all attractions and tours.   
  • Small Group Size limited to 10-14 travelers.  Of course we see the attractions that everyone wants to see but our small group size allows us to go to those “nooks and crannies” that the big tours can’t get to.  Part of each day’s itinerary is programmed with professional guide services and there is plenty of time to explore or relax on your own.
  • Personalized, Attentive Service.  Professor Solosky takes care of the details and serves as the group’s personal concierge.   He is on the tour from start to finish.  
  • Priced at $1,492 Per Person.  Based upon double occupancy.  The single supplement is $275.
  • Ambitious Itinerary:
    • Day 1:   Arrive in Rome.  Dinner in the rustic and authentic Trestavere section of Rome after a traditional Rome walk.
    • Day 2:   Luxury high-speed train to Naples.  Our private limo picks us up for a guided tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum.  Enjoy the sunset at our comfortable Sorrento hotel.
    • Day 3:   Our private limo picks us up at the hotel.  It is a day in heaven!  We visit Positano, Amalfi, and the hilltops of Ravelo.   There is plenty of time to savor the Italian coast on your own.  
    • Day 4:   We’ll catch the hydrofoil for a wonderful day on the island of Capri.   Part of our tour will be a walking guided tour with a professional guide.  On the schedule is the famous Blue Grotto (weather permitting), Mount Solaro, Villa San Michele, and the Church of San Michele.
    • Day 5:  After a relaxing morning at your leisure in Sorrento, enjoy lunch then our limo will pick us up for the ride back to the Naples train station.  We plan to arrive back at our hotel in Rome in the early evening.
