Norway is stunning and we've done several small group tours to Norway.   Here are my tips:

We usually arrive into Oslo harbor on an overnight cruise from Copenhagen.  After dropping our bags at the hotel, we'll take the scenic tram through some of the most charming neighborhoods to famous Vigelandsparken Sculpture Park to enjoy  the beautiful sculptures and for lunch.   The Hotel Børsparken is situated within walking distance to nearly every attraction, restaurant, and good transportation connections in Oslo.

There is plenty to see and do in Oslo such as Munch Museum, Ibsen Museum,  Holocaust Center, Historical Museum,  National Gallery, Museum of Decorative Arts & Design, National Museum of Architecture, National Museum of Contemporary Art, Norwegian Folk Museum, Nobel Peace Center, Natural History Museum, Kon-Tiki Museum, Viking Ship Museum.

The best way to get to the fjords at Flam is to take the relaxing high speed train from Oslo winding through lakes, forests, and mountains.  Then, we enjoy the most beautiful train ride in the world from mountaintop to sea level on the Flamsbana Railway.   There is nothing like the outstanding Fretheim Hotel just steps from the train station.  It's one of the most scenic lodges in the world and of course, there’s an authentic Norwegian buffet in the stunning dining room.

And, there is a lot to see and do in Flam.      Do an easy 10km hike or 20 km downhill bike ride to see hundreds of waterfalls.   Others can opt for a beautiful slow and easy cruise through the Sognenford. The Fjord Safari rib boats offer a more exciting (and wet) adventure.

Most people depart Flam for Bergen by ferry.  However, we like to do another spectacular spectacular train journey.  We always  check-in at the Grand Terminus Hotel.

Bergen is a great walking city.  Visit the UNESCO Hanseatic village or take the cable car for a scenic outlook.  There are great places to eat and plenty of museums.
