We recently returned from a tour to Denmark, Norway and Iceland with a small group of adult travelers.  We traveled to 3 locations - Oslo, Flam, and Bergen.  Here is what they liked best:

Clean and Uncrowded:  Even though it was "peak" travel season, there was never a wait, never a big crowd.   We walked right into restaurants, museums, and other attractions easily and quickly.  Oslo, Flam and Bergen are practically free of the grittiness and graffiti seen in other parts of Europe.  The tram system in Oslo made it easy to get around while getting a great view of the city.

Culture:  Oslo's National Gallery is a "Scream" with featured painting by artists like Munch.  The Viking Museum, Kon-Tiki Museum and Norway Heritage Museum impressed all.  Bergen's maritime history as well as a special visit to the Grieg Musem was enjoyed.  We were treated to a private singing performance in Flam too.

Natural Beauty:   We must have seen 1,000 waterfalls!  Cruising the fjords in Flam was a dream come true for some of our travelers.  The train ride from Myrdal to Flam is one of the most spectacular in the world.

Food:  Yes, food can be expensive in Norway.   But the breakfast buffet at each hotel was authentic and delicious.

The People:  They probably speak English better than most Americans.   Never was there any type of problem.  They live a truly unique and special lifestyle of freedom and enjoyment.   We were happy to experience it with them.
