With The Traveling Professor Amalfi Coast tours, we usually originate in Italy in Rome.

  • Day 1:  From Rome, take the high-speed train for about 1:10 minutes to Naples.   After pickup at the Naples train station we are off to the Amalfi Coast starting with a tour of Pompeii and a spectacular lunch at the base of Mt. Vesuvius before checking in at our luxury Sorrento hotel.
  • Day 2:  A scenic cruise to and around the island of Capri.  It's about a 20 minute ferry ride across the Bay of Naples.   We like to take a boat ride around the island to see the famous grottoes.  Enjoy spectacular views, shops, and dining.
  • Day 3:  What we like to do is wind along the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento to Ravello in a private Mercedes limo.  Delight in the sights, smells, and smiles of the dramatic sea coast. Lunch at a fattoria dramatically overlooking the sea and beautiful Positano.  We spend more time in Ravello than Positano or the village of Amalfi.  Ravello is quieter and less touristy.
  • Day 4:  A day to relax in Sorrento.  Options include taking a cooking class, shop, dine, or discover this gorgeous Italian city.  Remember, you are on vacation!  Take some "down" time.
  • Day 5:  After lunch in Sorrento, travel by high-speed luxury train back to either Rome or some other destination such as Florence.
