The Firenze Card grants VIP admission to 60 major museums, villas, churches and historical gardens in Florence.    Card holders skip the lines and do not need appointments for entry.   In my opinion, the cost of the card is worth it on this basis alone.
Here is a list of all the attractions covered by the card:  http://goo.gl/iWqyy

The cost is 50 euros.  When deciding if the card is a good monetary value, consider admission fees range from 7 to 15 euros per attraction.  The card is valid for 72 hours from the time of its first use.  It does not permit the user to go back to museums previously visited with the Firenze card.

The cost is 50 euros.  It can be purchased at any Tourist Information office or (usually) any location accepting the pass for admission.

For me, another value of the card is that I tend to visit attractions I would not normally wait in line for or pay for if I did not have the card.  It has opened up for me some of the marvelous lesser-known Florence attractions that are well worthwhile visiting.
Although Florence is a walking city, the card also provides local bus and tram transportation.
