Rome's major international airport is Rome Fiumicino (FCO).   It is located about 16 miles outside of Rome city center.  Here are the options for getting from the airport into Rome:

TAXI
A taxi to the hotel from the airport is about 45 euros.  Only take a taxi from a taxi stand and NEVER ride with someone soliciting you in or around the airport.    Set the rate with the driver BEFORE getting in the car.  It should be about 45 euros for two with an additional charge of 2-3 euros per bag.   Some taxi drivers may have difficulty communicating in English, so bring a map with the address clearly stated, of the hotel you need to get to and show it to the driver if ncessary.

LEONARDO EXPRESS TRAIN
The train is about 15 euros per person and departs from the airport every 15 minutes or so.   Upon exiting passport control you will be in the main lobby.  Look for the signs for the train. Proceed then go down, then up an escalator and the train station is immediately on the right.   From a ticket agent (they speak English), purchase a ticket with euros or a credit card.    Validate the ticket in the yellow machines (watch others doing it).   Get on the train marked “Roma Termini”.   Train takes about 30 minutes to the Rome Termini Stazione.  Follow walking directions below to hotel.  WATCH FOR PICKPOCKETS.  Once arriving at Termini station, walk or take a taxi/bus/metro to the hotel.   Please note that busses and metros can get very crowded.

BUS
The Terravision bus runs service from the Rome airport to the “Roma Termini” train station for as little as 4€ if booking online at: http://www.terravision.eu/rome_fiumicino.html.
