Technology is Changing the Face of Travel. Or is it?

Most of the travel experts were in their 30's and 40's.  I was easily the oldest one there.   The hot topic of discussion was how travel was going to become more and more digitally driven.   There are websites for booking hotels, apps are being developed to help people find hotels and lodging, to be used as guides, to give walking directions, and to help plan a trip.

My comment was:  What about bringing it back to a human interface experience?  How about a real person guiding us through the whole experience?   I am sure I got a few strange looks.

I think people, especially when they are on vacation, want to deal with human beings to help enhance the travel experience.  Don't we spend enough time looking at our phones?

I like having a real, live guide I can ask questions of.  I like a person who is going to give me a wonderful and enriching travel experience.
