Here are 3 ridiculously simple tips for not losing your luggage.
Take a Photo of Checked Luggage: The first thing that needs to be done when luggage is lost is to describe that luggage. The best way to do that is to take a photo of it and pass it on when asked for the description.
Put a Little Bell on Your Luggage: Sounds silly, doesn't it. The fact is, a good percentage of "lost luggage" is where someone waiting at the carousel mistakenly picks up the wrong piece of luggage. I mean, take a look - all those bags look alike. I knew a traveler who used to attach a little bell on her luggage. When it came out to the carousel, she could hear it. Also, if another passenger mistakenly picked it up, they would do a double-take to see what that noise was - then recognize they had the wrong bag.
Don't Check Luggage: To put it simply, it is hard to lose a checked bag if it isn't checked at all.
