Hotel Brunelleschi
To the visitors eye, all measures of this accommodation makes Hotel Brunelleschi a five star hotel posing as a four star.  The intricacies of this hotel start with their Byzantine Tower, the oldest building still standing in Florence that they have turned into their most superior suite, an impressive room for a much higher budget than their deluxe rooms.  The tower is also paired with a museum in the basement, filled with artifacts and original Roman spas.  It seems as though the hotel goes on forever, since it is four connecting buildings making up the 96 rooms.  They also have a restaurant open to the public (separate from the breakfast room), meeting rooms for conferences, interconnecting rooms for families, a fitness center, and the most exclusive restaurant in Florence - available only to the guests in their superior suites.  If this hasn’t sold the hotel yet, Hotel Brunelleschi is also mentioned in Dan Brown’s The DaVinci Code.  If it’s good enough for Robert Langdon, it’s good enough for me.

Palazzo Castri 1874
Looking to spend some spa time in Florence?  Palazzo Castri 1874 houses its own luxury spa, complete with a Finnish Sauna and hammam, and the hydromassage pool.  To be better enjoyed in the spring, summer, and autumn due to the beautiful garden that the pool spills into, the spa can seem a little small, but is by reservation only to control guests’ use.  Remember to book spa timings in advance to ensure the best times of day, especially after a long day of sightseeing.  The hotel rooms themselves are the usual, crisp white linens with detail lightings in the bathroom - thus suggesting to pick Palazzo Castri 1874 for guests planning to indulge at the spa.  Breakfast is also full of cakes and even honey to scoop right from the honeycomb.

NH Collection Firenze Porta Rossa
What a luxury 4 star hotel!  The NH Collection is a hotel chain that prides itself on the experiences they provide for guests.  At Porta Rossa there is a truffle dining experience fit for the royal among us.  The dining area is moreso a lounge with a bar.  Porta Rossa’s records as a hotel location dates back to 1386, the oldest in Italy.  Mainly couples enjoy the romantic atmosphere of Porta Rossa, however this hotel does have the ability to host triples.  The public areas of the 5 floor hotel are traditional with stained glass and a suite in the tower, however, the rooms themselves are furnished with modern pieces.  In the winter time, this red infused hotel is adorned with holly, Christmas trees, and baubles galore.
