Here are 3 great places to eat while in Cusco, Peru.

Incanto:  For a casual lunch or dinner, this is the place to go.  A well-lit and airy restaurant right off the Plaza de Armas, it's a crowd pleaser for its pastas and pizzas, but it is much more than that.  I enjoy the organic salads with super-fresh tomatoes, portabella mushrooms and asparagus.  But my favorite is the Chupe de Quinua (Quinoa Soup) in a rich tomato broth topped with a fresh egg. Expect to pay about $8-$12 for lunch. Oh, they serve one great Manhattan too!

ChiCha: One of the pioneers of fine food in Cusco, it's a Gaston Acurio (known as one of the best chefs in the world) creation.  It's a fusion of modern Peruvian food with fresh as fresh can be ingredients from the local region.  Dine on Lomo Saltado (a traditional Peruvian beef stir-fry), Ossobuco, and don't forget the absolutely delicious roasted chicken.   All this for under $30 per person.  Make sure to make a reservation!

Cicciolina: On my last small group tour to Peru and Machu Picchu, my travelers turned me on to this place. We walked upstairs to this popular place.  It has a more final dining area in the back and less formal high tops up front.  Whether you are looking for a great bar, casual tapas, or a casual sit-down meal, I am sure you will love it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
