Whether it be on a month-long small group tour to Italy, or just a weekend jaunt, The Traveling Professor recommends the eBags packing cubes.
I like them because they are lightweight and they let you see what is stored inside the packing cube.
Another great use I have for them is in packing my electronics and liquids. I pack all my liquids (in a plastic bag of course) and electronics in one packing cube. When passing through airport security, I lift the one bag containing all electronics and liquids out. I no longer have to hunt for all of these things with the danger of missing one and being held up by TSA officials.
Having clothes and other items organized in the packing cubes saves space and time when unpacking, especially if my trip is in multiple cities.
