Here are The Traveling Professor's picks for the best travel power chargers and adapters for overseas trips:

Power Adapter with Plug and USB Input:  In Europe a plug adapter is needed since our American plugs will not fit into wall sockets.  I like the Yubi Power 2 in 1 Adapter.

Supplemental Power Supply:  Being on trains, planes, busses, vaporttos, etc., I don’t always have a place to charge my electronics.  So, I carry the power with me with the Anker Astro E1 5200mAh Candy bar-Sized Ultra Compact Portable Charger.   With it I can power up my iPhone 2 times and re-charge my Kindle and Fitbit.  It’s small, inexpensive, and it works well.

Enhanced Supplemental Power Supply:  Then there is the  External Battery RAVPower 16750mAh Portable Charger Power Bank 4.5A Dual USB Output.   This baby can charge an iPhone about 7 times.  It can also charge 2 devices at the same time.  Another nice feature is that it has a built-in flashlight.  An issue I have with this power supply (along with the Anker Astro) is that they still need a power adapter when being used in Europe.
