Hotel Casci:  A budget 2-star hotel in a 5-star location. This family-run hotel will makes your stay feel like being at your grandmother’s house.  Everything is cozy and exceptionally clean at this family-run hotel a slingshot throw away from David at the Accademia.  There’s nothing fancy about the jigsaw puzzle pictures on the wall, but for a good, cheap sleep, the Hotel Casci is the place to be.


Hotel Davanzati:  This is a family-owned classic 3-star hotel right smack in the middle of Florence.  Nicely decorated, the staff makes you feel right at home.  Expect to be served coffee and cookies just about any time of day.  No wonder this hotel is consistently ranked on Tripadvisor as one of the top hotels in Florence.

Hotel Il Guelfo Bianco:  The Traveling Professor stays here with his small group tours to Italy.  Everytime this 3-star property gets better.  Rooms are big and attractively decorated.  The location is terrific in between the Duomo and the Accademia.  The breakfast service is attentive as well as the casual dining spot located within the hotel.  I highly recommend Il Guelfo Bianco
