Insurance:  If traveling internationally, you must absolutely, positively have travel health insurance AND emergency medical evacuation insurance.   Not having it is insanity.

Insurance:  If taking more than one international trip a year, purchase health/evacuation and other travel insurance on an annual basis.

Get a Good Credit Card:
 For instance, the MasterCard Aviator offers cancellation, interruption, baggage loss/delay insurance.  They do offer medical insurance but not necessarily medical evacuation insurance.  Also, there are no foreign transaction fees on this card, saving 3% per purchase.

Get Global Entry and Pre-Check:  
Save yourself a ton of time and the anxiety of waiting in line.  It’s $100 for 5 years.
