The cultural startup behind this venture, Theatre in Paris, was established when the co-founders realized that international visitors had very limited access to evening entertainment in the city if they didn't speak French. Yes, there's the opera, the ballet, and, of course, the notorious cabaret. But they knew that these days, people are looking for more authentic experiences among the locals. That's when Theatre in Paris was born.

Although the plays are presented in French, sub-titles are provided.  Also there is an English-speaking welcome service at the theater. When the guests arrive, a host is there to meet them with their English programs. The host also gives the guests are pre-show cultural presentation in English, to ensure the experience is as immersive as possible.

The company always offers a mixture of comedies, musicals, and French classics so that all preferences are catered for, and they're even currently developing multilingual surtitles on augmented reality glasses... keep an eye out!

So, if you're looking to spend an evening sitting among Parisians but don't see yourself becoming bilingual before your next trip, perhaps Theatre in Paris (http://www.theatreinparis.com/) is just the ticket.

Here are some examples of upcoming and past productions:

  • Around the World in 80 Days
  • The Place
  • Oliver Twist
  • Cyrano de Bergerac
  • A Farewell Dinner
  • Irma La Douce
