We had a few hours before boarding the Eurostar to Paris, so we walked over to the British Museum in the Bloomsbury section of London. It was more than a pleasant walk in the beautiful weather as we passed gardens and parks, beautiful brownstones along the way.
The British Museum is full of fascinating artifacts from all over the world. Of particular interest are the mummies, sculptures, and stonework from ancient Egypt. The Rosetta Stone for me, was the highlight. The British Museum is very much a modern museum in that they get the visitor "up close and personal" with the exhibits.
We hurried back to the St. Pancras station to catch our 2 1/2 hour train to Paris through the chunnel. After a quick check-in, we took some photos at the Phantom of the Opera House. We strolled down the boulevard to the Louvre and met with Mona, Venus, and hung out with Winged Victory for awhile.
After a French meal of le hamburger et le canard and some house wine, we are ready to hit the sack! Check back tomorrow for more of our exciting adventures in Paris.
