Why people are traveling to Iceland:

Natural Beauty:  In one day you can see waterfalls (lots of them), volcanoes, black sand beaches, glaciers, geysers, gigantic rivers, mountains, rivers, snow-capped peaks and more.

Distance:  It's only about a 4.5 hour flight from the US.  And if flying Icelandair to Europe, your stopover in Iceland is free.

Food:  If you know where to look, the culinary scene in Iceland is great.   Email me for some dining tips.

People:  The people are great.  The women have that "Viking attitude" and the locals are super friendly.

Safe:  There is practically no violent crime in Iceland.   The president of Iceland walks around the streets and the rumor is he doesn't even lock the door on his house.

Hotels:  There are some great modern (and not so modern) hotels.

Cost:  Prices have come down in Iceland.  Way down.  It is competitively priced with other destinations in Europe only the airfares are lower.

Crowds:  Ever been to the Vatican, Versailles, Louvre, or Colosseum in the summer?   You won't feel that crush in Iceland.

Weather:  When we were there in June, they had a golf tournament where the 1st tee-off time was midnight.   It has never hit 90 degrees in Reykjavik.   I would say the temps in the summer are usually in the 70's.  Perfect for me.
