We arrived last Sunday in Sorrento at the stunningly beautiful 5-star deluxe Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria, sitting on top of the dramatic cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples.  Please don't tell anyone, but rooms were upgraded to junior suites.  On Monday, we took the boat over to breezy Capri.   After a private tour, most of our travelers had a sea view lunch and enjoyed an hour cruise around the blue waters of Capri.   The next day, we did a drive along the Amalfi Coast with stops in Ravello and lunch at Fattoria la Tagliata overlooking Positano.

Wednesday was a day off for our travelers.  Some went to Pompeii, some had a spa treatment, some just enjoyed lounging around this great hotel.  But that night, we had a wonderful dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant at the hotel.

On Thursday we took a first-class rail ride up to Florence.   Everyone was quite tired from relaxing the day before so we had a casual dinner at the funky and interesting Mercato Centrale.

Today, we finished up a private tour to the Chianti region for some wine, aged balsamic vinegar, local cheese, and the best olive oils I have ever tasted.

Sound good?  You bet it was.  Contact me and come with us again next October.
