These are my favorite 3 star hotel picks in Paris:

Hôtel St. Jacques. A  3-star hotel with a bit of charm located in the Latin Quarter close to the Panthéon.  Although it was recently renovated, the rates are still attractive.  The movie Charade with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn was shot here.  35, rue des École. Hôtel de Fleurie.  A charming, romantic, and friendly well situated 3-star hotel off boulevard Saint Germain in the St. Germain des-Près area. I have met people who stay here every time they come to Paris. 32-34, rue Grégoire de Tours.  Website:  www.fleurie-hotel-paris.com.

Hotel St. Severin.  This hotel recently changed hands and if it is run in the same manner as its sister properties, expect great service, a neat and clean facility, and smart decoration.  The building has a lot of charm and character.  It is located near Ile de la Cite and has excellent transportation connections.  38-40 rue St. Severin.  Website: http://www.hoteleurope.net/

Hotel Saint-Louis en l'Isle.  Old meets new at this romantic nook in the oldest part of the city amongst narrow lamp-lit streets lined with cafés, boulangeries, and crêperies.  A nostalgic 3-star boutique hotel, it features timbered ceilings, custom bathroom fixtures, and comfortable sitting rooms.  Flat-screen TV, loaner iPads, and snappy internet service keeps you connected to the real world.  75, rue Saint-Louis en l'Île in the 4th.
