La Lucha: Next to Kennedy Park in Lima, this is a place for a quick casual but really, really good lunch. Diners can stand outside at the lunch counter and pick out a dish like Chicharrón, a country style pork dish with red onion relish, but I enjoy their pork sandwiches of either chicken, pork, or ham. The place is a throwback to the '50's and a legendary spot in Lima. Expect to pay about $3-$5 for a great meal. Website: http://www.lalucha.com.pe/
Restaurant Huaca Pucllana: Built upon the ancient ruins in the middle of the city, this is one of the most majestic and scenic restaurants you will ever dine at. It is a top restaurant with high-quality food, perfect for an exciting and delicious night of dining. I like the appetizers of crab claws and even rich tasting beef hearts. The "Cebiche Oriental" is an unusual fusion dish combining tradition with Lima's Asian influence. For dinner I usually select from the flaky fish of the Amazon or the traditional beef dish of lomito saltado. The website is: http://www.resthuacapucllana.com/en/
