Review of Hotel Casci:  Located on the main drag, Via Cavour, it is close to everything and about 350 steps from David's Accademia and a short walk to the Duomo.  This is a special family-run hotel in Florence that we use on our small group tours to Italy.    It is the cleanest and most orderly hotel I have ever stayed in.   It is located in an older, historic building which means long hallways with twists and turns, but the rooms are of good size and quiet.   It is a great 2-star hotel with about 24 rooms.  It has wi-fi, plug adapters for your state-side phone, fridge, and TV.  Prompt, inexpensive laundry service is available during the week.   It is a great value for those traveling solo, for those on a small group tour of Italy, or families traveling together.  I love the breakfast at the Casci.  The Hotel Casci is my favorite when on tour in Florence.

Review of Hotel Davanzati:  It is hard to imagine a hotel located in a more central area than the Casci, but this is it.   It is a 3-star hotel (therefore more expensive than the Casci) with a few more elegant furnishings but with the same attention given by a family-owned hotel.  It is pretty much the same as the Casci done with a more pizzazz, but as I said, it is pricier.   The breakfast is terrific, afternoon treats are available, and travelers find themselves right smack in the middle of Florence.

Both hotels are wonderful choices for a tour to Italy and Florence.  For more travel information see www.travelingprofessor.com or visit my FB page at:  www.facebook.com/pages/The-Traveling-Professor/136094362898
