Hôtel de Nesle. This eclectic hotel in the 5th arrondissement near the Seine is for those looking for something out of the ordinary.   Each generous sized room is different, themed in its own funky style with cool colors, bold furnishings, antique photos/posters, and painted-on wall murals.  It also has its own garden.  Days Inn it is not.  The owners don’t seem to care if, or how many stars, if any, this hotel has.   Book only by telephone.  Rooms are 85-120 euros per night.  7, rue de Nesle. Hôtel Hospitel Dieu. It is uniquely located on the top floor of a hospital situated in the heart of Paris on the Île de la Cité, in the shadow of Notre-Dame cathedral.  Quasimodo’s bells will awaken you each morning.  It is rated as a 3-star hotel although I thought it was more of a 2-star.  The staff is attentive.  Since it is in a hospital, it is extremely quiet and clean. It may be the most unusual “hotel” you will ever stay in.  Website: www.hotel-hospitel.com/ang/accueil.htm.
